POSITION: Sales Engineer
Join the Engineering team of a fast-growing, global
telecommunications giant. As Sales Engineer, you will assist the
Sales team in securing new business and growing existing accounts by
providing accurate and timely technical documentation and
face-to-face customer presentations.
Assure technical accuracy of a sales opportunity that is developed by
the sales professional. From initial price quotes to receipt of
signed contracts.
Resolve technical issues encountered during the provisioning
process with full knowledge of account details and specifications. Clarify all
technical aspects at the pre-sales stage.
Responsibilities:
- Be the owner of customer RFP’s and delegate to the other
support organizations as appropriate (engineering, marketing,
operations etc).
- Perform payback analyses
- Provide feedback to the other teams regarding technical trends
gleaned from customer interaction
- Lead the development of new products and work in coordination
with Sales end Engineering to ensure that the product definition
meets the market requirement and can be supported
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of working in a team based
environment
- Must have a good understanding of the
Telecom market and the competitive landscape
- Layer 1 Transport Fibre Optic
experience required
- Layer 1 DWDM experience required
- Strong knowledge of Layer 1/2/3
transport technology and equipment including optical fiber
characteristics, DWDM/CWDM technology, SONET/SDH, Layer 2/3
Ethernet protocols
- Understanding of technical standards
related to optical transport including IEEE, ITU-T, MEF, etc.
- Expertise with PowerPoint, Word, Excel,
Access, and Visio
- Knowledge of mapping software
preferable including MapInfo and Google Earth
- Self-motivated, ability to work
independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and communication
skills
- Creative problem solving abilities
- Strong communications and PC skills
- Willingness to travel
- Clean driver's license
